Oubliette - (noun, french) a little place of forgetting. A small, windowless room where someone is locked away, forgotten, left to go mad.
This is my personal place to rant and rave like the lunatic I am, my oubliette. It's dark, quiet, and I come here to forget about things. Or maybe to remember them. After all, where does insanity end, and insight begin?

snow in alabama
OMFG! IT SNOWED!
My little cat statue, all covered in snow.
Proof of snow.
Those are actual snowflakes. Or lots of spirit orbs. Either way, we're all gonna die!

I'm sooo jealous! It's cold enough to snow here in Florida, but I doubt it will :( would be fun, though. Enjoy it while it lasts (melts in your mouth and in your hand)!
Old Grouch - I found the cat statue at a home improvement store in town, I can't remember if it was Lowe's, Home Depot, or what. It reminded me of a Buddha, fat and smiling, and I had to have him. So now he sits on my front porch, guarding the door.
Rurality - you notice I had to take the pics during the night. :) The snow disappeared pretty quickly once the sun came up. It was pretty while it lasted, though.
Wow, you had snow on my birthday! :D I just found your blog and it's cool that you live in Huntsville! I moved to Huntsville 2 months ago, I'm from Germany and I know I'm gonna miss all the snow we had in Germany :( Well..just wanted to say hi ;)
Try coming to visit North Bay, Ontario, Canada...even better, try living here from November to March....you will not like snow anymore. We got 5 feet of snow initially (over the course of 2 weeks). Got a tiny melt...and we're back where we started... I broke my shovel trying to clear my driveway...

Like the cat statue. Any story behind it?
We didn't even get that much! It really did used to snow once or twice a year here, an inch or so at least. Just not lately...
Of course when an old fogey like me says "not lately" that can mean "not in the last 20 years". :)
