the cycle of life continues

My husband and his brother were cleaning up in the back yard when they scared a bird out of a brush pile and discovered this:



Later, I went to photograph the nest, and was able to see what the momma bird was, a brown thrasher, Toxostoma rufum. She flew off of the nest and into the shrubs and brush a few feet away, fussing at me the whole time.
